      Put some balm in the palm of your hand and then spread it all over your body.

      An expert tip

      For gentle application, first spread the balm in your hands and then spread it over the entire body using the whole surface of your hands in wide strokes. Avoid rubbing the skin so as not to irritate it.

      We understand, convincing a child to apply a cream is not always easy. At Avène, we offer workshops to motivate and encourage children. Two techniques have been highly acclaimed:
      - application in the form of a massage;
      - application while having fun, thanks to our fun rhyme from Coco and Leo.

      An ointment has a very greasy texture. It’s used on very localised areas, as it is not always easy to spread. A lipid-replenishing balm has a rich but fluid texture, so it’s easier to apply to large areas. It’s the ideal texture for very dry atopic skin.

      This phenomenon is common in people with eczema-prone skin. Applying a lipid-replenishing balm to eczema-prone skin just before going to bed helps relieve itching during the night. In addition to your medical prescription, good hygiene and a moisturising routine specific to eczema will help prevent itching.
