Dry skin is a constitutional or permanent skin condition, whereas dehydration is a temporary skin condition. To distinguish between the two, here are some tips:
- Your skin feels tight all over your face after washing, you see some dead skin, the skin texture is tight, the skin is thin: your skin is dry.
- Your skin feels tight on certain areas of your face (temples, forehead...), you see small wrinkles, the skin is dull, make-up does not wear well: it is dehydrated.
A good make-up base is a skincare product that is perfectly adapted to your skin type. It should sufficiently moisturise, nourish or mattify and not leave behind an oily finish. If you have dry skin, then the Revitalising Nourishing Cream is the perfect make-up base for you!
Indeed, the skin is often drier in the winter. If you are already using the Revitalising Nourishing Cream as a day cream, feel free to apply the Revitalising Nourishing Cream Rich at night as a complement.
AVÈNE THERMAL SPRING WATER
A powerful water that soothes and calms.
I use the Rich Compensating Cream as my night cream and I am very happy with it. I began using it last year to improve the dehydration I had in the T-zone, and generally keep my post-menopausal skin in good condition. It has done this very well, particularly through the winter months. It absorbs easily into my skin and feels very comfortable as a night cream but would be a little too heavy for me during the day at the moment. I expect this to change - my face is lagging behind the rest of me, which is drying out at a rather alarming rate, but I suspect it will catch up when I least expect it.
