Moisturising your face correctly

Wind, cold, air conditioning or heating, unsuitable products, hormonal variations... The causes of dehydrated skin are numerous and its effects are visible. With the right routine and products, it is possible to restore comfort and suppleness to your facial skin.

Dehydrated skin: specific needs

Did you know that it is possible to have both oily and dehydrated skin? Yes: all skin types (oily, dry, combination, etc.) can be affected by dehydration. This can be caused by winter conditions or an overheated environment; by hormonal variations, hygiene products or harsh skincare products... And you can see and feel it: dehydrated skin is dull, rough, sensitive and tight.

The good news is that this condition is temporary and specific treatments exist to meet the particular needs of dehydrated skin. These products provide both moisture to the skin and enough oil to retain it in the epidermis and limit its evaporation.

How to distinguish dry skin from dehydrated skin?

My skin is not naturally dry, but sometimes it feels tight. In this case, I apply a hydrating serum morning and evening

Serum, scrub and mask to moisturise your face

For intensely and lastingly moisturised skin, a cream alone may not always be enough: sometimes it needs a little help, in addition to its daily care. After gentle cleansing with lukewarm water (especially not hot water, which is too harsh for your skin!) and before applying your skincare product, opt for a moisturising serum. This concentrate of active ingredients will reinforce the moisturising action of the skincare and help to restore softness, suppleness, comfort and radiance to the skin on your face.

Two to three times a week, you can also give your skin an intense moisturising treatment just before bedtime: apply a generous layer of a moisturising mask, leave on for 10 to 15 minutes, then remove the excess with a tissue and leave overnight.

Finally, don't deny yourself the benefits of a scrub just because your skin is dehydrated. Exfoliating once a week will remove dead skin and enhance the effectiveness of the routine.

Moisturising your face according to your skin type

Dehydrated skin has specific needs, but they depend on your skin type. We'll help you make sense of it.

A light texture for normal, combination and oily skin

Your dehydrated skin is thirsty and you want to limit the use of greasy substances to avoid shine and allow your make-up to last? So choose a moisturising emulsion with a fluid texture to moisturise your face lightly.

Creamy texture for dry to very dry skin

If, in addition to regular dehydration, the skin on your face usually feels dry or very dry, it’s best to choose a cream with a rich, creamy texture. It will deeply nourish your facial skin, which will quickly restore moisture and comfort.

FRIENDLY (AND EXPERT) ADVICE

For intense, long-lasting and targeted hydration, ”all-in-one” formulas are suitable for all skin types.

Imagine a skincare product that will allow you to moisturise your skin in the morning, which would be applied as a moisturising mask and even on the eye area when desired... All with an ultra-smooth gel-cream texture that blends into the skin and moisturises it without leaving an oily film, whatever your skin type...
There is a “all-in-one” product like this and it's perfectly suited for those who want to reduce their number of products in their bathrooms...or in their cosmetics bag when they go on a trip!
