Men's skin is thicker

It is about 24% thicker than women's skin.  Its thickness decreases regularly with age, while in women this decrease doesn't appear until after the ages of 55 to 60.

Men's skin is firmer and more elastic

Due to its richness in collagen - the substance responsible for the skin tone, male skin is clearly firmer.  Female skin ages progressively from the age of 25, however, men's skin is protected until about the age of 30, then undergoes a rapid ageing to become more stable around the age of 50.

Men's skin is oilier

Higher levels of male hormones, which are responsible for more body and facial hair, cause a greater secretion of the sebaceous glands than in women, regardless of age.  Men's skin is therefore oilier and more acidic.

Men's skin has a more developed system of hair follicles.
