Hydrolipidic Film

The hydrolipidic film is the skin's natural protective barrier. It consists of aqueous substances (water) and oils produced by the sebaceous glands. The function of the hydrolipidic film is to retain moisture and to protect against the entrance of germs and fungi into the skin. An intact hydrolipidic film maintains the skin's natural suppleness.
