90% of Acne Sufferers Have Never Found An Effective Treatment

The effect of having acne or problem skin has a huge impact on your psychological wellbeing. Recent research by Eau Thermale Avene has revealed that problem skin affects all ages as well as the psycho-social impact this has on them: 85% of women say they would feel more confident if they had clearer skin, 54% feel depressed when they have a flare up and one in 10 even felt they would have more friends or better relationships if they had clearer skin.

Consultant Dermatologist Dr Anthony Bewley said "Acne is caused by an excessive production of oil by the skin. The oil production is partly under hormonal control, hence why it is common in teenagers. However acne and other similar skin problems are increasingly common with older adults whose self confidence can be severely knocked if they are not able to gain access to suitable treatments."
